On the Buses

With a driver shortage and stroppy male drivers, management hire women drivers...shenanigans ensue.

Low-brow British comedy concerning the antics of a public transport bus crew. Painful sexism which was a bit old hat by 1971 (see also Carry on Cabby 1963). Feature film spin off from a very popular TV series made by the Hammer Horror folk of all people. Hugely successful in the UK. Time has not been kind.

On the Studio Canal DVD cover, Reg is incorrectly described as a clippie. For shame.

I have been unable to confirm Anna Michaels, who has a body of radio work (e.g. Clayhanger Farm) but only one film credit.
