Santa Claus Conquers the Martians

1964

Nicholas Webster
Director

Martian leader, Kimar, decides what Mars needs most is Santa Claus and sets forth to capture the beast. Traditionalist, Voldar, has other ideas.

Silly costumes, stock footage, bad acting, huge moustaches, dollar store special effects. What's not to like?

That Christmas Lodge movie is more of a stinker, he opined.

This is every bit as bad as the title and the presence of Pia Zadora would indicate. Still, John Call is a jolly fat man, and Vincent Beck looks properly angry that this the zenith of his acting career. Then there's Dropo. . .

(For the record, the worst Christmas film is Santa and the Ice Cream Bunny. Or Christmas With the Kranks).
