Bonnie Scotland

1935

James Horne
Director

The 6th full-length feature from Laurel & Hardy. They travel to Scotland for the reading of a will which sees Stan inherit... a set of bagpipes! They manage to lose their clothing and inadvertently end up joining the army when they answer an advert for some free clothes, not realising their error until it is too late. Later on, whilst in India, the boys foil an attempted attack on a fortress.
Some memorable scenes which include them trying to fry a fish by using the bed grille, and a delightful dance routine during a rubbish-clearing punishment exercise involving James Finlayson. Not bad.

Followed by The Bohemian Girl (1936).
