Conflict

1945

Curtis Bernhardt
Director

A frustrated husband (Bogart), who is hopelessly in love with his sister-in-law, murders his wife on an isolated mountain road and fakes an injury to make his version of the events appear more credible. The problem is, he makes one small mistake which leads a suspicious psychologist/family friend (Greenstreet) into trapping him.
Very clever film noir from the mid 40s (the film was actually made in 1943 but was held back due to the popularity of its leading star at the time playing a villain.)

I only wish Warner Bros. would one day give this magnificent film the DVD release it deserves.
