Cool Hand Luke

1967

Stuart Rosenberg
Director

Sent to a road prison for the unusual crime of cutting the heads off parking meters whilst under the influence, a defiant prisoner refuses to conform to authority and through several escape attempts and a strange self boast of being able to consume 50 boiled eggs in one hour, gains a huge amount of respect among his fellow cons.

One of the most important and immaculately perfect movies to have ever been made. I don't think I will have any complaint if I was to suggest that this was clearly the greatest of all Paul Newman's movies. In short, it should definitely be one of those few movies you should see before you die.
