A young man finds his destiny is to be King, but between the sins of the father and treachery all is not well in the Kingdom.

Blood and thunder version of the Arthurian legend. Makes the more recent retelling seem particularly insipid.

Only drawback is that everything is so over the top that the acting and certain scenes beg comparison with the work of Monty Python (particularly the "It's guy"). However, when it all works which happens on a few occasions, this is magnificent cinema and one of my favourites.
