Hangmen Also Die!

1943

Fritz Lang
Director

The story of the assassination of SS honcho, Reinhardt Heydrich here told in film noir fashion from genre master Fritz Lang. Very watcheable today, with flashes of odd black humour. The story was more accurately retold in the film Operation Daybreak. The real event had horrible consequences, but who knows what villainy Heydrich would have perpetrated. Recommended.
