George Furth

Actor and playwright who wrote the book for the innovative Stephen Sondheim Broadway musical Company (1970). Furth won a Tony for his book of the show. He also acted in movies including Butch Cassidy & the Sundance Kid, Myra Breckenridge, Airport '77, and Shampoo and on countless TV comedies. He had been hospitalized for a lung infection and died in Santa Monica, California on August 11, 2008.
