Inept, vertically enhanced actor falls for a nurse and becomes the star of a musical version of The Elephant Man.

Early comedy effort from Four Weddings scribe, Richard Curtis. The elephant man musical spoof drags on a bit, but is atoned for by a rather erotic comic sex scene, Hugh Thomas demented medico and Madness on the soundtrack.

US version removes a scene or two and eliminates Suggs from his own song for reasons I can't fathom.
