Event Horizon

1997

A long lost spaceship, the Event Horizon, turns up after being missing for seven years lost in space. A rescue team investigate.
Very scary sci-fi, kind of Poltergeist meets Alien without the Alien. Works much better on a big screen with the volume up. Creepy atmosphere and great performances from Fishburne, Neill, Quinlan and Pertwee make-up for the occasional plot (black) hole.
For my money, easily the scariest film of the 90s.
