| 19 years after his murderous mother was decapitated, Jason returns to Crystal Lake for revenge.
It seems churlish to complain that a remake is not original, but there really isn't anything new here. Actually the continuity of the original series is improved upon as Jason grows up, does the elephant-man-in-a-sack thing and finally settles for his iconic hockey mask.
Cast are as pretty and bland as you could wish for with three bouts of gratuitous nudity. None of the mayhem is a patch on Savini's work in the original film though.
