45 Minutes From Hollywood

1926

Fred Guiol
Director
Hal Roach Studios
Production Company

A family man is summoned to Hollywood to pay an overdue installment on his mortgage or face eviction. He then later ends up in a hotel and is robbed of his cash. Personally I thought the plot made no sense whatsoever?
It has to be said though, the film negative is in excellent condition, given its age, but for some unknown reason the entire section of the film featuring Stan Laurel is very fuzzy.
The film is historically important in as much as it was the first Hal Roach two-reel short featuring Stan & Ollie together (not yet billed as a team, nor do they share any time on screen together), but to be fair is a mess of film, stock footage and a handful of Roach stars of the time.
