African Prince absconds to America looking for true love. Funny as hell comedy pairing of Murphy and Arsenio Hall, directed with comic flair by veteran, Landis. The singing bit is an ordeal though.
African prince finds the perfectly logical place to look for a regal wife--Queens. One of both Landis' and Murphy's finest films, both charming and hilarious. Plenty of subtle references to films both past and future (note James Earl Jones is playing a king wearing a lion...) The concept of Zamunda, a prosperous and peaceful African kingdom, is an inspiring one. The only downside is that this is the film where Murphy decided to play multiple characters, which unfortunately for all of us led him down the road to horrors like Norbit (2007). I personally liked the musical numbers. Best Whitney Houston cover ever!!
