Stan and Ollie join the French Foreign Legion after Hardy is saved from comitting suicide when he is rejected by the girl he has fallen in love with (Jean Parker). Average vehicle for them which is highlighted briefly by a beautiful rendition of Ollie's Shine On Harvest Moon halfway through the film.
No decent DVD print exists as fas as I know, most are barely watchable due to the very poor quality. However, fans may be interested to know that this film is in the public domain and can legally be downloaded for free from here.
This is the second time that Laurel & Hardy have joined the Foreign Legion, the first time was in Beau Hunks (1930).
