A sadistic toymaker has secretly installed microchips inside his toy Silver Shamrock masks which are set to explode on Hallowe'en night as children wear them to watch his addictive television commercial.
Despite what many people say about this stand-alone unrelated entry in the film series, this is a clever movie which is hard to forget, especially after you've heard the tv jingle 3 more days to Halloween, Halloween... Silver Shamrock which is sung in the same tune as London Bridge is falling down. It also grossed a substantial amount of money at the box-office compared to its relatively miniscule budget too. Personally, I love it.

No Michael Myers; get over it! Nice try by Carpenter to send the Halloween franchise off in a new direction, with a script by Nigel "Quatermass" Kneale, who subsequently disowned it. Has a TV movie ambience and a nicely understated performance from O'Herlihy as the villain trying to get some respect for the holiday. ~ The Sloth
