Drake is sent to an unnamed African nation to protect the life of the incumbent PM, who has already had one attempt on his life. Is there really a danger, or are there other things going on behind the scenes?
Intriguing but not very successful episode, suffering from stiff direction and a couple poor performances. Still interesting to see African politics portrayed in a mature manner in 1964.
The newspaper at the beginning is Ghanaian, but Drake lands in Beirut, and is given directions on a map of Harare, the capital of Zimbabwe (the probable inspiration for this episode). And Agatha Christie didn't write a book called "A Scent of White Poppies," but John Christopher did. Maybe Miss Marple got to fight Tripods in return...
