Gung ho tomb raiders, Cruise and Johnson, find an unlikely Egyptian tomb in Iraq and with the help of archaeologist, Wallis, and the US military, dig it up. Complications ensue.
Good production values, one good crashing plane sequence and a couple of scares don't make up for Cruise trying and failing to do "goofy charm" and a plot that loses interest in itself four fifths in.

Let's hope future entries in Universal's "Dark Universe" series of their classic monster reboots are better than this impoverished Tom Cruise vanity piece. Even Van Helsing looks good compared to this.
